Single XL measures 38" × 80". University residences at U of T, York, TMU and most Ontario campuses use this size, so it is the one to buy in August; it also suits tall sleepers in narrow rooms and is exactly half of a king, which makes two single XLs the standard way to build a split king with an adjustable base.
Two single XL mattresses side by side equal a 76" × 80" king. Each side can be a different firmness, and on a split adjustable base each person controls their own head and foot position. We quote split kings on request in most of our brands.
Single XL needs a single XL frame or box spring; a standard single frame is five inches short. Single XL box springs are stocked in 9" and 4" heights.
Single XL mattresses ship free in Toronto and the GTA. Dreamstar mattresses usually arrive in 3 to 5 business days and other brands in 5 to 7, and old mattress removal is available for $50 when you book.
