Frequently Asked Questions
The Dreamshadow HD is one of our firmest mattresses. It suits people who want very firm, even support, such as stomach and back sleepers, heavier sleepers and anyone advised to sleep on a very firm surface. If you sleep on your side, you will likely find it too firm.
The Dreamshadow is wrapped in a breathable bamboo fabric. As a dense all-foam mattress it sleeps a little warmer than a coil mattress, so if you sleep hot, a hybrid with cooling gel may suit you better.
Sleep on it for up to 100 nights. If it isn’t right for you, you can exchange it once for a different mattress, and you’re free to choose another model or brand. If your new mattress costs more, you simply pay the difference; if it costs less, we refund the difference. Exchanges are available in Ontario within 250 km of our showroom.
Yes. The Dreamshadow HD is two-sided, so you can sleep on either side. Flip it and rotate it 180° every 3 months to help it wear evenly and last longer.
Use a firm box spring, a solid platform or a slatted base with slats no more than 3″ apart. Queen and king sizes need a frame with centre support. A sagging or broken base can affect comfort and your warranty, so if yours is worn, it’s worth replacing it. Not sure? Ask us and we’ll recommend the right foundation for the Dreamshadow HD.
This mattress has a 10-year limited warranty from Dreamstar that covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, such as broken coils or body impressions deeper than the manufacturer’s limit. If an issue comes up, contact us first and we’ll handle the claim with Dreamstar for you.

Nova –
Tried a couple “extra firm” mattresses which really were not firm enough. This is exactly what i was looking for. It is actually extra firm and it’s been great for my back.
Albert V –
I went in and asked for the firmest mattress they have. They showed me this one and within 30 seconds I knew it was the right choice for me. Great bed!
Jeremy Smith –
The entire package was amazing but the mattress is just incredible. I thought waking up with a sore back was just who I was now but boy was I wrong. After my first night sleeping on the mattress I woke up pain free and energized! I’m a SleepMastersCanada customer for life!
April B –
This is the firmest mattress I have had and I am enjoying great sleep. Not waking up with any sore points and I think it is just a great mattress for people who do a lot of sports and yoga etc.
Esther L –
I know it may not be the most comfortable mattress as most people look for softer more cushioned mattresses but this is exactly what I wanted. Can’t believe I was able to find something this firm which is also two sided.
Davinder –
This is a very good mattress for my back pain!
Tayler A –
Great mattress with the firmness that I need for my back. Still somehow quite comfortable though!
Lee –
Very very good!
Cordelia –
I am very please with my mattress, it is very firm just the way I like it. I would buy another mattress from Sleep Masters Canada when the time comes, Thank you.
Frank S –
Best way to describe this mattress is that it feels like a comfortable park bench :). It really is extra firm and just what I needed for my back.
Sheena –
Was so difficult to find a mattress like this which is really firm and also 2 sided. As soon as I tried it in store I was sold!
Jaspreet –
No kidding, this thing is really super firm!
Shan S –
Just what I was looking for so thanks guys. Also, there aren’t many companies i’ve seen that made their own videos and I just thought that was a nice way of connecting with your clients. Thanks again.
Kiesha –
Didn’t think it would be possible to find a mattress this firm but it really is tough as nails. Also great job on the video guys it helps to make a decision 🙂
Valerie M –
Waaaayyyy too firm. Nothing wrong with the mattress or the service and I could see why someone would really like this mattress but I definitely made a mistake going this firm. Thankfully, I had it exchanged for the one level softer recommended to me .
Gio –
Firmest mattress I have ever laid on if you can even call it a mattress 🙂 Not a problem for me though as I have server back issues and this has actually helped me since purchasing it.
Feng –
Exactly as advertised, extra firm and perfect for me!
Amir –
I could not believe how firm this mattress is! Perfect for me.
Penny C –
You guys are excellent! I saw your videos on youtube as I was searching for a really hard mattress and Baris was so welcoming when I visited the store to test this mattress out. Super firm mattress and exactly what I needed, thanks again for everything!
Sophie –
I lived in Asia for a year and over there I had a really firm mattress very similar to this and even though it took me some time to get used to it, after a while i started really liking it. Now I can’t sleep on anything that is not really firm and this mattress is exactly what I needed.
Derek –
I know it may seem crazy to say this for a mattress that is labelled ‘EXTRA’ Firm but I have to say I was honestly not expecting it to be this firm!! There really is no difference between this mattress and putting a blanket on the floor and laying on that. I can’t believe people actually sleep on such a thing. I suppose it’s my fault for not believing just how firm this could be.
Shabbir –
This was exactly what I was looking for extra hard mattress with no coils.
Kursat –
It’s really really firm and thank you for the video because I didn’t have time to come and check it out so you guys really made it easy for me to order it online, great job.
Bryan M –
Yeah you can’t go wrong with this one. It is exactly as described, REALLY firm.
Kailash –
I was sick and tired of getting new mattresses that sink within 1-2 years. I’m not even a fan of really hard mattresses but at least I know I don’t have to change this one anytime soon. By the way, damn this is really firm!
Breel –
mattress is firmer than I expected
Pandu –
What a beautiful mattress, exactly what I want and two sided. So hard to find two sided now I don’t know why but this mattress is really really good.
Mauro –
Rock solid mattress and I love it
E. Tilki –
This is the firmest mattress I have ever experienced, just like what I had in Asia it is amazing for your back!
Carole –
So I didn’t know that I would actually get an extra firm mattress, I thought that a normal firm would be good enough for me. But when I visited sleep masters Canada, Ali very kindly showed me the different firmness levels, and explained the differences between them. He also explained that because I only slept on my back, that I could go for the extra firm if I wanted to. So I took my time and actually laid on the mattress for approximately 15 minutes, and honestly it felt great. Like I had no idea that I would have liked an extra firm but it works so well that it was pointless to go for anything else. Funnily enough, Ali only mentioned that the mattress was two sided flippable at the end, after I had already made my decision so that was a nice surprise haha!

We are so happy with our new bed and sleep masters. We went in and we were very clear that we wanted a really firm bed and Baris showed us just 2 options without making us feel overwhelmed with many different options. He showed us 2 very firm beds and we went ahead with this one but also we were very happy that Baris arranged our delivery for the next day. We were in an emergency because our mattress got water damage and we could not sleep on it so we needed something very quick and our new mattress arrived in less than 24 hours which is just amazing service
Amanda –
Seriously firm like a rock and i can’t believe how ligtht it is! Also great that we can use both sides of it.
Guela –
Everything about this mattress is perfect for me with the firmness the two sided and also some firm mattresses make me hot but this one does not
Wilfried –
Totally worth the money and it has helped my back a lot
Ammari –
I have seen extra firm mattresses for cheaper at other places but after trying them out in person you realize that this one is just the best, the quality is way above the others that I tried and it is worth paying a little more for.
Receb –
Took me a while to finally find something that is really as firm as they say and the fact that it’s also on both sides is pretty amazing.

Hand down to this mattress! It is fantastic and the best mattress in Canada. We had 3 different mattresses before finding this mattress online. We place the order base on the information provided and reviews from customers. Customer service was excellent and the 2 gentlemen who delivered the mattress, who were nice and professional. Surely would refer friends and family to your store. A customer from Brantford. Thanks!

This is actually very simple if you want something that is really firm but actually still surprisingly comfortable to sleep on then you’re not going to be dissapointed with this mattress, really that straightforward
Eryan –
This is for people who are want a truly firm mattress because I tried 2 “Extra Firm” mattresses before this and I was still sinking into them but you do not sink into this one at all.
Bahar Tokgoz –
Exactly what we were looking for once we tried it we knew right away but we still tried a couple more just incase but it did not take long before we came back to this lol
