Mattress Warranty

Mattress Warranty

Purchasing a new mattress is a major investment and you as the consumer need to make sure you are aware of the warranty coverage of the mattress of your choice. At Sleep Masters Canada, all of our mattresses are covered under full manufacturers warranty. However, depending on the brand and the model of mattress, the warranty period and type could be different. We don’t expect you to have issues with your new mattress before the end of the warranty period but if you did, we as Sleep Masters Canada will always stick by your side to promptly have your mattress repaired or even replaced with the manufacturer.

What is a warranty, and why is it important?

Warranties are there to offer you peace of mind and assure you that the product you purchase is going to perform a certain way for at least the period of warranty length. With mattresses, the warranty period can also give you an idea of the quality of the product. Mattresses with 10-15 years of warranty are usually highest in quality and are least likely to give you any issues within that period. Of course, this does not guarantee that absolutely no issues will arise within the warranty period, but it does assure guarantee that the manufacturer has the obligation to repair or replace your mattress should there be an issue.

What is covered in a mattress warranty?

Mattress warranties cover production or manufacturing defects. So if there is any issues with the structure of the mattress such as faulty coils, size inconsistencies or faulty stitching your mattress will be replaced right away. If you experience excessive sagging in the long term, your mattress is usually repaired and not replaced. If the mattress needs to be repaired, your mattress will be picked up, fixed and returned to you all in the same day so that you are not left without a mattress for the night.

What will void your mattress warranty?

• Stains – This could very well be the most common reason why mattress warranties are void. Any liquid stains such as coffee, juice, tea or carbonated sodas can have a negative impact on the deterioration of the foams and therefore make them weaker. ALL manufacturers will not accept to repair or replace your mattress if there are any visible stains. To prevent this from happening, we highly suggest the use of a waterproof mattress protector.

• Improper Support – This applies to certain manufacturers but not all of them. If you are using a mattress from manufacturer ‘A’ but using a box-spring from manufacturer ‘B’, should any issues occur with your mattress, the manufacturer has the right to reject your warranty claim. If you are going to be using a box-spring with your mattress, we suggest that you use the box-spring of the same manufacturer to avoid any of these issues.

Prorated vs. Non-Prorated warranty

With a pro-rated warranty, you will be required to pay a certain fee to have your mattress repaired/replaced. This cost will depend on the brand and model of the mattress but also the duration it has been used for. The older the mattress is, the higher the warranty cost will be. With a non-prorated warranty, you pay absolutely nothing to have your mattress repaired/replaced within the warranty period of your mattress.
