A new mattress is a big investment, so you should know exactly how it’s protected. Every mattress we sell is covered by its manufacturer’s full warranty. If something goes wrong, you don’t deal with it alone: contact us and we’ll handle the claim with the manufacturer for you.

Warranty length by brand

The length and type of warranty depend on the brand and model. You’ll find the exact warranty listed on each product page.

Brand Typical warranty
Stearns & Foster 10 years, non-prorated
Simmons Beautyrest 10 years, non-prorated
Serta 10 years, non-prorated
Sealy Posturepedic 10 years, non-prorated
Dreamstar 10 to 20 years, depending on the model
Organic Meadow 15 to 20 years, depending on the model

Warranty terms are set by each manufacturer and can change. Your mattress’s law label and the manufacturer’s warranty card are the final word.

What’s covered

Mattress warranties cover defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. That includes:

  • Body impressions or sagging deeper than the manufacturer’s limit (usually about 1.5 inches / 3.8 cm) when the mattress is on a proper base
  • Broken, loose or protruding coils or wires
  • Foam that cracks or splits
  • Faulty seams, stitching or handles
  • Size defects, when the mattress is noticeably different from its stated size

Depending on the problem, the manufacturer will repair or replace the mattress.

What’s not covered

  • Normal softening and small body impressions under the manufacturer’s limit. All mattresses soften a little as they break in.
  • Comfort preference, for example if you’d like it firmer or softer. That’s what our 100-night sleep trial is for.
  • Stains, soiling, burns, cuts or other physical damage
  • Damage from improper support, such as a broken or unsuitable base or a frame without centre support
  • Mattresses sold “as is”, floor models or second-hand mattresses
  • Damage from misuse, such as bending or folding, or standing or jumping on the mattress

What can void your warranty

Stains

Stains are the most common reason warranty claims are refused. Any visible stain, even a small coffee or water mark, can void your warranty because liquids break down the comfort materials. Protect your mattress from day one with a waterproof mattress protector.

Improper support

Your mattress needs a solid, flat foundation. Queen and king sizes need a frame with centre support legs. Some manufacturers require their own matching box spring or base for the warranty to apply. If you’re unsure what to use, ask us and we’ll recommend the right base.

Removing the law label

Keep the white law label (“Do not remove under penalty of law”) attached to your mattress. Manufacturers need it to identify your mattress and confirm the production date.

Prorated vs. non-prorated

Non-prorated means repairs or replacement cost you nothing during the warranty period, apart from possible transport or inspection fees. Prorated means you pay part of the cost, which goes up the longer you’ve had the mattress. Many longer warranties are non-prorated for the first years and prorated after that. Each product page lists the details.

How to make a warranty claim

  1. Contact us by phone at (416) 781-7441 or through our contact page (choose “Exchange, return or warranty”).
  2. Send us the details: your order number or receipt, photos of the law label, the whole mattress and the problem area. For sagging, include a photo with a straight edge (like a broom handle) across the mattress and a tape measure showing the depth.
  3. We submit it to the manufacturer for you and keep you updated.
  4. Inspection: the manufacturer may ask for an inspection in your home or at their facility.
  5. Resolution: if the claim is approved, the manufacturer repairs or replaces the mattress. Where possible, repairs are arranged so you’re not left without a bed.

Transport or inspection fees may apply under some manufacturers’ terms. We’ll tell you about any costs before anything happens.

Help your mattress last longer

  • Use a waterproof mattress protector from the first night.
  • Rotate your mattress head-to-foot every 3 months. Flip it too if it’s a two-sided model.
  • Use a solid base with centre support for queen and king sizes.
  • Don’t bend or fold the mattress, and use the handles only to position it, not to carry it.
  • Keep the law label and your receipt in a safe place.
